1. She clings to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as much as she is able with the understanding of the rightly guided predecessors (As-Salaf As-Saalih).

2. It is also befitting for her to deal with the Muslims in a just and good way and even with the non-Muslims. For verily Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said,

And speak politely to the people.  [Al-Baqarah: 83]

And He said,

Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due.  [An-Nisaa: 58]

And He also said,

And if you speak, then be just. [Al-An’aam: 158]

And He said, the Glorified and the Most High,

O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.  [An-Nisaa: 135]

3. Likewise, it is obligatory upon her to wear the Islamic dress and distance herself from imitating the enemies of Islam. Imam Ahmad collected in his Musnad a hadeeth that was narrated by ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said that the Messenger of Allah said,

“Whoever imitates a people is from them.”

And the Lord of Mighty said concerning the matter of [the women’s] dress,

O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.  [Al-Ahzaab: 59]

Imam At-Tirmidhee collected the hadeeth in his Jaami’ that was narrated by ‘Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“The woman is to be concealed for when she leaves out the Devil beautifies her.”

4. We advise her to be dutiful to her husband if she truly desires a happy life. For verily the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“If the husband calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, then the angels curse her.” Collected by Bukhari and Muslim

In [the hadeeth] in Saheeh Muslim [the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,]

“Then the One who is above the heaven is angry with her.”

5. She should also fulfil the responsibility of raising and educating her children in an Islamic fashion. Bukhari and Muslim narrate in their authentic collections upon the authority of ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar who said that the Messenger of Allah said,

"All of you are shepherds and all of you will be asked about his flock.”

And he (peace and blessings be upon) mentioned concerning the woman that she :

“Is responsible for the household of her husband and she will be questioned about those in her care.”

In the two authentic collections [Bukhari and Muslim] from the hadeeth of Ma’qil Ibn Yasaar who said that the Messenger of Allah said,

“There is no person to whom Allaah has placed people under his care and he fails to take care of them properly, except that he will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.”

It is unfitting that Da’wah busies her from raising and cultivating her children.
