A Lecture in Aqeedah

A Lecture in Aqeedah
Shaykh Abdul Azeez ibn Abdullaah ibn Baaz (Rahimahullaah ta'aala)

Exclusive Translation for Sisters Upon Al-Istiqaamah

All praise is due to Allaah and prayers upon the the Prophet and upon his family and his companions and those who are guided from his guidance.  As to what follows.  Allaah the Mighty and Majestic, in his noble book, and the most truthful of those who speak:

What is translated to mean:

“And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).  Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong.” (Adh-Dhariyat  51:56-58)

Allaah has made clear in this noble verse that he has created the two species, the jinn and mankind, for his worship.  These acts of worship are:  islamic monotheirm, his obedience, following his legislation. It is also Islam, Eemaan and guidance.  It is righteousness and piety.  Allaah has indeed ordered them with these acts of worship.

So Allaah said what is translated to mean:

“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun .” (Al-Baqarah 2:21)

And Allaah said what is translated to mean:

“Worship Allâh and join none with Him in worship....”  (An-Nisaa 4:36:)

And Allaah said what is translated to mean:

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him....." (Al-‘Israa 17:23)

The meaning of He decreed, is that He commanded and He made incumbent.

And Allaah said what is translated to mean:

“And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him).”  (Al-Baiyinah 98:5)

Allaah sent the Messengers with that and HE sent the Messengers with these acts of worship.

So Allaah said what is translated to mean:
“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allâh)." (An-Nahl 16:36)

Therefore, what is obligatory upon all species, jinn and mankind, arab and non-arab, males and females, the rich and the poor, the kings and other than them is that they worship Allaah alone.  That is conducted with the Islaamic Monotheism and sincerity for Him. It is also done by way of making the acts of worship specifically for him excluding all besides Him, from the prayer, supplication, fear, hope, the placing of one's trust, desire, awe, fasting, pilgrimage and other than this from the acts of worship.  He is the One who has the right to be worshipped alone Glory be to Him the Most High and far removed from imperfection.  No one has the right to be worshiped besides Him.

And what He (Allaah) said what is translated to mean:
”That is because Allah He is the Truth (the only True God of all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood) And verily, Allah He is the Most High, the Most Great.” (Al-Hajj 22:62)
