What books should I begin with in my path of Seeking Knowledge?

Q. I am a young lady in the beginning of my path in seeking knowledge. What is the path to that? What should I begin with? Which books should I begin with? What books are depended upon in the learning of the deen?

A. Upon you is to study the Book of Allaah. In it there is guidance. Also, study the sunnah of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) and that which is between the two from the books of tafseer and the explanation of the ahaadeeth. Study that with the people of knowledge, all of it within its jurisdiction. Be diligent in practicing that which you learn. Indeed the one who practices that which he/she knows, Allaah will grant them knowledge of that which he/she doesn't know. We specifically advise you to begin with the Saheehayn (Bukhaari and Muslim), Buloogh al-Maraam, Muntaqaa al-Akhbaar, Zaadul-Ma'aad of Ibn al-Qayyim, al-Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah of Shaykhul-Islaam, Kitaab At-Tawheed, Kashf ash-Shubuhaat, Thalaathatul-Usool and al-Qawaa-id al-Arba' of Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad Abdul-Wahhaab. May Allaah mercy upon them and all of the scholars of the Muslimeen. With Allaah is the Tawfeeq (success). May the Salaah and the Salaam of Allaah be upon our Prophet, His family, followers and companions.
